Silent Friktories consist of a series of smoke printings on paper. They bring to the present an act of obliteration from the past bringing it back from oblivion. An act of deconstruction and a communication medium for many centuries, the fleeting trace of burning is meticulously woven into consecutive layers, creating a new severe grid structure. It is an effort to isolate and embody it, while it is disappearing from the field of perceptibility. Disorder, fluidity and the penetrable are being replaced by order and compactness. It is a personal signal that invites viewers to detect their own.
