LIEU IN TRANSITION
Lieu In Transition / Site-Specific Installation / Cannabis / 1500x700x430 cm / 2007

Art as a means of expressing creator’s fantasy in a code shared with others and of the awakening consciousness can and must be the diode of reflection and thinking with reference to the present and the future.

The installation has an expansive character. The place is in a transformation process of changing its identity. It is a spatial dramaturgy of invasion, infiltration and finally of enforcement. A process of making a personal private envelope, “landing” of self. An ambiguous place in progress. Creation of a site, construction of a new world.

This is not a inversion with evil intentions. It aims to reveal the original nature of beings. The pharmaceutical substance of cannabis goes into industrial space which reflects technology and contemporary culture, and transforms it. It offers healing to a “wounded” culture. It points to antiquity, when the architect was a holistic creator (medical man, priest and astronomer) and at the same time a healer (of the body ,the spirit ,the sentiment). In contrast to the violent and expansive human intervention in nature, it evokes feelings of peace and serenity.
