Rift collection project is the first group’ s recording and was presented at the 16^th Biennial of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean in Ancona, Italy (2012) and later at the post- Biennale presentation of General secretariat for Youth at Camp, Athens (2013).

The trigger was the following daily paradox at one of the most busy and crowded central places in the city of Athens. Few meters under the unsuspecting passersby is an underground location,   non accessible to the public, hidden, forgotten and inactive, the Adrianian Tank (134-140 AD). Group Per Se, surpassing the historical references of the archaeological site, attempts a rapprochement as opposed to the general social field of modern-day Athens.

The visual art project Rift Collection refers to the concept of relocation and dialectic of an underground place-space existing silently in the dark and rising. Space which is ambivalent, inactive as a vehicle for the “here and now” of existence. The Adrianian Tank is the passage of looking in the past towards a rereading of the present and a view of the future.

The central issue was the emergence of contingency of a given order of things. The water tank symbolizes the hidden part of a potential source. The hidden part is dominated by an accumulated energy which tends to be a way to light and surface. The moment when the space in the art project increases its pulse functions as a transfer of this way out which is getting more distant as we are trying to perceive it, leaving the possibility of an imaginary realization only.
